There have been a number of discussions in digital archaeology circles which have recognised that there is a need for better networking and support amongst women working in or with digital technologies in the archaeological sector and allied disciplines.
As a response to these, Dominica Pate and I have established the Women in Digital Archaeology Network (DAWN) as result of these discussions, and we hope to offer a space in which to find support, share information, promote our projects, provide a point of contact for anyone seeking expert speakers or conference participants, to share our published and unpublished works and better promote ourselves as women practitioners and experts in our fields.
We also wish for the Network to become a safe place for discussion and debate and a space that encourages the inception of collaborative projects and cooperation of researchers across Europe and internationally.
We welcome women working in any area of digital archaeology to join us, and to follow us on Twitter @. We hope to develop this idea further, and welcome suggestions, comments, offers of help and ideas for future events and activities.
